Day & Zimmermann’s (D&Z) Engineering Group was recently selected by a long-standing client in the Polymers and Fibers field to provide Front End Engineering Design (FEED). Our team provided detailed design for the installation of new high capacity process equipment and new boilers in an existing Brownfield facility. Due to the pandemic, we used laser scanning and aerial/drone photography to limit site visits. Even in a virtual environment, our team was able to complete the project on schedule and under budget. The virtual project kickoff and virtual design reviews were also successfully held.
D&Z Engineering’s ongoing scope of work for this project is to perform engineering design utilizing these engineering disciplines:
Process/Mechanical
- Develop IFC Process Piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
- Perform hydraulic modeling & relief valve calculations
- Provide Process/Mechanical equipment list / equipment specifications & review vendor drawing packages
HVAC
- Develop Issued For Construction (IFC) P&HV P&IDs, arrangement plans, duct routings
- Provide HVAC equipment list / specifications & review vendor drawing packages
Piping
- Complete laser scan of project area
- Provide General Arrangement drawings, tie-in list, & updated TFEA
- Perform pipe stress analysis & isometric drawings
Civil, Structural, and Architectural
