While reporting my story on the apparent hiring boom at local tech firms, I came across some information that seemed to conflict with the notion that the boom is national as well.
Ultimately, I wasn’t sure that it directly conflicted with reports that tech firms are hiring people at a breakneck pace, so I left it out of the story. Still, I thought it was interesting enough to write about, so I’m doing that now.
The information was that the Yoh Index of Technology Wages, which measures inflation-adjusted wage growth among temporary tech workers, was only 1.15 percent higher at the end of last year than it was at the end of 2010.
