Because June is PRIDE month, we will see corporate America engage in shows of support to the LGBT+ community. PRIDE banners will be added to newsletters, zoom backgrounds, and LinkedIn profiles, and Day & Zimmermann will do that too, which is a good thing. But, I’m proud to say that in addition to PRIDE campaigns in June, Day & Zimmermann supports its LGBT+ employees all year round.
Our LGBT Employer Resource Group (ERG) actively communicates information on what it means to be an Ally to the LGBT community (in and out of the workplace) in the hope that all Day & Zimmermann employees will aim to become one.
Our medical plans include transgender-inclusive benefits and domestic partner benefits, and we offer parental leave – not maternity or paternity leave.
Initiatives and benefits like these make me proud to work at Day & Zimmermann, and it is why the company received a 95 (out of 100) on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2020 Corporate Equality Index, a benchmarking report that measures LGBT+ workplace equality.
I’m excited to celebrate PRIDE in June and to support my LGBT+ coworkers all year round. I’m also excited to spotlight Gene Thompson, a member of our ERG. You can listen to his story below. Additional spotlights on our ERG members will follow in the month of June.
Happy Pride!
