Posted on 4.7.2021 by Day & ZimmermannDay & Zimmermann (D&Z), the century-old, family-owned provider of construction & engineering, staffing, and defense solutions for leading corporations and governments around the world, today announced it has agreed to a new three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with NIOA to create ammunition in support of the Australian Defence Force (ADF). The ammunitions will be produced at Day & Zimmermann’s plant in Parsons, Kansas, a 4,000-acre facility that includes two production lines and storage facilities.
“Day & Zimmermann’s core competencies in the design and production of ammunition coupled with our many years of operating ammunition plants for the US Army makes us a great partner in complementing NIOA in Australia,” said Michael H. Yoh, President of Day & Zimmermann Munitions and Government. “As the important work being done at our Parsons, Kansas facility continues to expand, we’re thrilled about the opportunity to continue providing stable, consistent jobs to operation managers, production operators, maintenance mechanics, electronic technicians, and others in the Kansas area. We are excited about this continued partnership and the work it brings to our growing Kansas facility and look forward to many more years of collaboration with the NIOA team.”
The partnership between NIOA and Day & Zimmermann includes a four-year supply program of 81mm HE and practice mortar ammunition for the ADF as well as the opportunity to provide other Day & Zimmermann munitions products suitable for export to Australia.
The signing of this expanded MOU takes place as Day & Zimmermann celebrates over 50 years of operations at the Parsons, Kansas facility. Together with the surrounding community, the company looks forward to continuing its long history in Kansas and growing the site’s important role in producing ammunitions for the US Government and its allies.
“This agreement with NIOA is a big win for our organization as we continue to pursue additional opportunities to leverage our decades of ammunition production expertise in support of our government clients both domestically and abroad,” continued Michael H. Yoh.
