Day & Zimmermann Announces Joint Venture with WorleyParsons to Provide Integrated Plant Services
PHILADELPHIA, PA—April 3, 2013— Day & Zimmermann, a nationally recognized provider of industrial, defense and workforce solutions for government and commercial customers, announced today that its Engineering, Construction and Maintenance (ECM) group has entered into a joint venture with global engineering company WorleyParsons to provide turnkey solutions to the U.S. fossil industry. The newly formed joint venture, Integrated Plant Solutions (IPS), offers a single source of bundled, integrated solutions for engineering, construction and maintenance projects for electric utilities, public power, and independent power producers. IPS combines the project management, construction and maintenance capabilities of Day & Zimmermann, the top O&M contractor, with resources and expertise of global engineering giant Worley Parsons in a seamless, integrated organizational structure.

Andy Donaldson has been named Executive Director of Integrated Plant Solutions and will lead the day-to-day operations. Andy is the Vice President of Projects for WorleyParsons. He has 40 years of industry experience with a BSME from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a MSME from Stanford University. He is an ASME fellow and past chairman of the ASME Power Division. Currently, Andy is on the steering committee for the Combined Cycle Users Group a users group that he helped founded in 2001.
Andy will be working closely with Merrill Jones who has been named the Business Development Director for the joint venture. Jones is Sr. Director of Business Development at Day & Zimmermann ECM. He brings more than 30 years of industry experience to the position and will be responsible for coordinating with the Executive Director, and aligning with the joint venture management teams as operational assistance and commitments are required. Jones holds a BSME from the University of Massachusetts, and has worked for OEM’s and A&E’s in operations, engineering and business development over the course of his career.
