March is Women's History Month, a celebration of women’s contributions to history, culture, and society. Now is the perfect time to reflect on the often-overlooked contributions of women in American history. I encourage you to check out this timeline, which marks major milestones and accomplishments from women who got us to where we are today.
The 2022 Women's History theme is “Providing Healing, Promoting Hope.” This is a tribute to the ceaseless work of caregivers and frontline workers during the ongoing pandemic, and it also recognizes the thousands of ways women provide healing. And yet, the idea of women as caregivers is a traditional notion, but it is not all that woman are today, in this country, and indeed, in this Company. We are financial experts, supply chain experts, safety experts, compliance experts, contract management experts, communication experts and staffing industry experts. I could make this list go on and on, but I think you get the point!
As a woman in a leadership role at this Company, I am proud that Day & Zimmermann is a workplace where women can build their careers and thrive. Let’s celebrate Women’s History Month by recognizing remarkable or influential women with whom you work. Feel free to comment how you will be celebrating Women’s History Month, or what the month means to you, below.
In closing, and to the next generation of D&Z women, know this and live this:
If you don't see a clear path for what you want, sometimes you have to make it yourself.
— Mindy Kaling
