This Monday in the US, the nation celebrates Juneteenth. This newer holiday commemorates a time in our country when underrepresented voices were finally heard and information reached those who needed it most. Today, the national holiday is a way for communities to come together and celebrate freedom.
This holiday is an important reminder that we must continue to work to make sure that everyone is treated equally and that everyone has a chance to succeed. We are a values-based organization, committed to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, and I encourage you to listen and create opportunities for everyone in our organization to succeed, participate and be heard in an environment of mutual respect.
As I’ve said many times, diversity is a strength and a key to our ability to develop innovative solutions for our customers and our employees. But it takes continual work to build and support diverse teams. We all need to work together, in the spirit of holidays like Juneteenth, to ensure we have the best talent to make D&Z an employer of choice and the first choice of our customers.
If you choose to celebrate or participate in the various celebrations, I encourage you to share your holiday experiences with your co-workers and your community.
