Westar Energy Awards Three-Year, System-Wide Boiler Maintenance Contract to Day & Zimmermann NPS®
LANCASTER, PA — July 19, 2005 — Day & Zimmermann NPS® (DZNPS), one of the nation's premier contractors delivering power plant maintenance and modification services, has been awarded a new three-year, system-wide contract with Westar Energy, headquartered in Topeka, Kansas. Under this new contract, DZNPS will perform primary boiler and auxiliary systems maintenance and construction services at Westar's seven fossil-fired power plants in eastern Kansas. The scope of work encompasses major planned outages, rapid response to forced outages, projects and non-outage maintenance services. The ultimate goal of the relationship is to significantly reduce Westar's total cost of ownership (TCO) for their generating assets.
