TVA Renews System-Wide Partnering Alliance Contract With Day & Zimmermann NPS®
LANCASTER, PA — June 15, 2005 — Day & Zimmermann NPS® (DZNPS), one of the nation's leading contractors performing power plant maintenance and modification services, has been awarded a new multi-year, system-wide contract with Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). Since 1995, DZNPS has been TVA's Alliance Partner performing full-service plant maintenance and modifications at TVA's fossil plants in the western part of the Tennessee Valley, which spans both Tennessee and Kentucky. The new contract has a duration of three years followed by three consecutive three-year options, for a total estimated value of $600 million.
Since the inception of the Alliance, DZNPS has provided more than 20 million hours of craft labor services throughout the TVA fossil fleet. On nine separate occasions the firm reached the significant safety milestone of one million hours worked without a Lost Time Incident. In addition to performing all outage and non-outage project workscopes, DZNPS also erected six Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) units at TVA's Allen, Cumberland, and Bull Run plants.
