Day & Zimmermann Power Services Reorganizes Union Labor Maintenance and Modifications Business
PHILADELPHIA, PA, December 18, 2006… Day & Zimmermann Power Services, a leading provider of maintenance, modification and specialty services to the nuclear and fossil power markets, today announced the merger of its two union maintenance and modification businesses. Effective January 1, 2007, Day & Zimmermann NPS® and Atlantic Union Resources, Inc. (AURI) will combine operations and do business under the Day & Zimmermann NPS® brand name.
The merger brings together the significant maintenance and modification capabilities of two respected industry leaders who share a commitment to quality, safety and customer-focus. As one of the largest union labor firms in the power industry, this combined organization will have unique capabilities to support the North American nuclear and fossil fleet. In addition to extensive maintenance, modification and construction expertise, Day & Zimmermann NPS® will deliver capabilities in valve, condenser and radiological services, along with staff augmentation, as part of an integrated maintenance solution.
Day & Zimmermann NPS® resides in Day & Zimmermann’s Power Services unit, led by unit president Michael McMahon. Tim Reddington, president of Day & Zimmermann NPS®, will remain in this capacity for the newly merged union business. Additional executive appointments include Charles Lepisto, vice president nuclear operations, John Long, vice president nuclear operations, Greg Kern, senior director fossil operations, and Paul Williams, senior director alliance operations. The new organization will be headquartered in Lancaster, PA with satellite offices in Norfolk, VA; Fulton, MO; Atlanta, GA; Overland Park, KS; and Detroit, MI.
