High Tech Wages Increase in Third Quarter of 2005
Wages for high-impact technology professionals up for first time in 2005
PHILADELPHIA—November 3, 2005—Hourly wages for highly skilled technology professionals improved in the third quarter of 2005 compared to the same period in 2004, according to the latest Yoh Index of Technology Wages, the quarterly compensation index used by Fortune 500 companies to determine salary scales.

In the third quarter, wages changed at varying levels, with a 2.7% uptick in July, a 1.1% improvement in August and a slight .4% decrease in September, as compared to the same months in 2004. The Yoh Index of Technology Wages ended the third quarter of 2005 at 104.80, when indexed to January 2001 (1/2001 = 100).
"After being hit by two major hurricanes, the summer quiet-period, and the largest hike in gas prices in history, ending the third quarter of 2005 with an overall increase in compensation is a very positive sign for wages and workers across the technology spectrum," according to Jim Lanzalotto, Vice President of Strategy and Marketing for Yoh, a Day & Zimmermann company.
