Day & Zimmermann Ltd. Join CONNECT Alliance
Stockport, Cheshire (UK) – February 24, 2004 – Day & Zimmermann, Ltd. has joined with three of the world's leading companies in the areas of nuclear, construction and decommissioning to form a multi-disciplined design house (MDDH) called CONNECT Alliance to compete for a contract with British Nuclear Fuel Ltd. (BNFL) Engineering.
BNFL Engineering has launched a major initiative to leverage its engineering supply chain to provide focused support for the management and operations of its Sellafield nuclear power plant in Cumbria, England. Following an intense selection process, BNFL chose CONNECT Alliance as one of three MDDHs to compete for a contract to perform a majority of the work at Sellafield. From these three consortiums, which are currently undergoing a trial period, BNFL will contract with two.
CONNECT Alliance combines Day & Zimmermann's innovation and global experience with the nuclear engineering skills of alliance leader NNC, MB Faber, and Multi-Design Consultants, all of which have traditionally provided the backbone of engineering support to Sellafield.
