Mahaley Joins Day & Zimmermann as VP, Government Strategies
PHILADELPHIA, PA, December 1, 2003 - Today Day & Zimmermann announced the appointment of Joe Mahaley as Vice President, Government Strategies. In this newly created position, Joe will be responsible for developing strategies to leverage the capabilities of the company's security unit (Day & Zimmermann Security Services), staffing unit (Yoh) and architectural/engineering/construction unit (Mason & Hanger Group) to market complex, integrated security solutions to various government entities.
Joe joins Day & Zimmermann with an impressive resume of experience in both the public and private sectors. Most recently, Joe served as Director, Office of Security, for the Department of Energy, where he was responsible for developing Department-wide policies governing the protection of national security assets. In addition, he was responsible for security operations at Department of Energy facilities in the National Capital area and managed the Department's special security operations, the plutonium uranium and special material inventory program, the classified information review program, and security education and training. Joe was awarded the Energy Department's highest honorary award - the Secretary's Gold Award - in recognition of his outstanding performance and superior leadership as Director of the Office of Security.
Joe is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and received his law degree from George Washington University. He is also a retired Captain, U.S. Naval Reserve.
