Larry Ames Named President, Day & Zimmermann Services
PHILADELPHIA, PA, November 24, 2003 - Larry Ames has been named President of Day & Zimmermann Services, a leading provider of base operations as well as maintenance, professional, technical and engineering support services to the United States government. In this position, Larry will be responsible for all operational aspects of the business, as well as business development and strategic growth efforts.
Larry joins Day & Zimmermann Services with an impressive resume of experience in building business capability. Over the past 18 years, he has served in operations, product development, sales and executive leadership positions. Most recently, Larry was President of Airbase Services, Inc., a privately held global services company supporting the aviation market. While in that role, Larry significantly expanded the company's business in North America and Europe to serve eight of the world's ten largest airlines.
Prior to his Airbase experience, Larry served as VP and GM for the Service and Advanced Products Division of B/E Aerospace. He also served as a global Product Manager for Kulicke and Soffa, a leading equipment supplier to the silicon wafer fabrication and chip bonding processes, as the Director of Business Development for ECC, a company that provides maintenance training and simulation equipment to the DOD and foreign governments, and as the co-founder of ProgramMation, a provider of material handling systems for the semiconductor market.
Larry earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He was a Captain in the US Army with duty stations that included the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment in Fulda, Germany.
